Matjaž Mikuletič, po završetku Srednje muzičke škole, upisuje se na Univerzitet za muziku i izvođačke umetnosti u Gracu, na džez odsek. Godine 2001, stiče Master diplomu pod pokroviteljstvom profesora Eda Neumeistera. Kao član Big benda Univerziteta u Gracu, sarađivao je sa brojnim umetnicima među kojima su Herb Pomeroy, Peter Erskine, Clark TerryEd Neumeister. Tokom studija učestvovao je u projektu Swinging Europe sa odabranim muzičarima na jednomesečnoj turneji širom Evrope 1999. godine. Trenutno živi u Ljubljani i radi kao solista, dirigent, kompozitor i aranžer u Big bendu RTV Slovenije. Često svira sa raznim ansamblima u Italiji i Hrvatskoj: Mirokado, latino džez grupe Ocho Rios, Ten Directions… U maju 2004, nastupio je sa EBU big bendom u Švajcarskoj. Godine 2006, je snimio Happy Christmas u saradnji sa Big bendom RTV Slovenije. Ovde se predstavio ne samo kao muzičar, nego i kao uspešni autor, aranžer i dirigent. Pored toga, bavi se aranžiranjem i komponovanjem u drugim muzičkim žanrovima. Na primer, učestvovao je kao aranžer u kubanskom muzičkom projektu, koji je snimljen na Kubi. Izdati CD je bio nominovan za Gremi nagradu za latino muziku 2013. godine, a 2010. dobio je Nagradu za značajan rad u oblasti umetnosti Muzičke akademije, Univerziteta u Ljubljani. Kao studijski muzičar snima i aranžira za mnoge druge muzičke grupe.

After completing the secondary music school, he enrolled at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Jazz Department. In 2001 he received master’s degree under the supervision of Prof. Ed Neumeister. As a member of the Big Band Graz University he collaborated with several musicians, including Herb Pomeroy, Peter Erskine, Clark Terry, and Ed Neumeister. During his studies he participated in the project „Swinging Europe“ with selected musicians on a one-month tour through Europe in 1999. He currently lives in Ljubljana and works as a soloist, conductor, composer and arranger for the Big Band RTV Slovenia. He frequently participates in various ensembles in Italy and Croatia: Mirokado, Latin-jazz groups Ocho Rios, Ten Directions… In May 2004, he performed with the EBU Big Band in Switzerland. In 2006 he recorded „Hippy Christmas“ in cooperation with the Big Band RTV Slovenia. Here, he not only presented himself as a musician, but also as an accomplished author, arranger and conductor. In addition, he is involved in arranging and composing in other musical genres, for example, he participated as an arranger in the Cuban music project, which was recorded in Cuba. The released CD was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2013. In 2010 he received the Award for Important Work in Art from the Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana. As a studio musician he also records and arranges for many other music groups.
