NEWS FROM AMERICAN CORNER

Hillary Clinton Speach Announcement

live speech-watching event
and a panel discussion on Internet freedom

On Thursday, January 21 at approximately 3.30 pm , Secretary of the United States of America, Hillary Clinton, will deliver a major policy address on Internet Freedom at the Newseum in Washington, DC.
The speech will serve to underscore the necessity and importance of preserving and promoting fundamental values such as the freedom of expression and assembly in a world in which the exercise of these rights are increasingly online. This will be an opportunity to underscore America’s commitment to internet freedom as a human right in the 21st century.
The speech will run approximately from 3.30 to 4.30 pm and after a short break the round table will continue to 6.00 pm.
Immediately following the speech, there will be a panel discussion on Internet freedom with distinguished representatives from industry, academia, and the international participants.
Observers will be able to submit questions to the panel discussion.
If you want to submit questions before Thursday please follow the link bellow.

WELCOME TO AMERICAN CORNER
We are pleased to inform you that an American Corner opened on October 6th, 2004 in Novi Sad. This project is the result of cooperation between the Cultural Center of Novi Sad and the Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade.
The idea was to open an American-style library created to help increase mutual understanding between Serbia and the United States by making available information about America in a variety of formats. We offer books, videos, CD-ROMs, Internet access, programs and a professional bilingual librarian trained to help you find desired information about the United States.
